On Canal Street the area most visible is the canal area now known as Victoria Wharf. It was built on a framework of 19mm square timber, covered in 6mm ply which was then faced with various Wills products; Dressed Stone for the canal sides, Rough Stone for the walls, and, Sets for the quayside and road. Windows and doors on the warehouse, bollards, seagulls etc. are from the Langley whitemetal castings and frets.
The five bridges on the layout were all scratchbuilt specifically for the layout. All were built using similar techniques using a plywood trackbed to which other parts were then glued once prepared.
